In 1978, Shirley Sesler decided to start a fireworks business as a way to earn some extra money to help raise her children. She got a loan, built two fireworks stands in her driveway, bought some stock, and then towed the stands behind the family station wagon to their locations in Mabank. 

With everything on the line, Shirley woke up on July 3rd to a pouring rain, and she was sure that all of the work they had put in was doomed to failure. “Ryan, one of my sons, caught me crying”, she said, “I didn’t know how I was going to pay the money back.”  Ryan suggested they open the stand, even though they both felt like it was a waste of time. 

To their amazement, the cars began to line up. Their first season was a success, and Fireworks World of Texas has been part of the East Texas Fireworks tradition ever since. Our current fireworks locations are in Crandall, Texas and on the east side of Cedar Creek Lake.
